Giro’s Monaco is the hammer of the Giro glove line and is meant to be rock solid mile after mile. This begins with fit — no matter how well made, gloves are worthless if they don’t fit well. Giro’s Super Fit Engineering process assures a contoured construction, with a three-part Pittards leather palm that’s cut to be precise and bunch-proof, especially at the finger/knuckle junction. The four-way-stretch mesh back is breathable and features tiny pockets at the top ends of the middle and ring fingers to ease removal. A tab on the palm side of the wrist helps make it easier to pull the Monaco Gloves on and a hook-and-loop closure lets you micro-adjust fit.
The palm also features Technogel padding on the heel and outside of the hand, which is subtle and thin, but helps reduce the fatigue and potential numbness caused by the constant pressure of leaning onto the handlebars on long rides. The back of the thumb features a soft, microfiber wiper for your nose or face.
